Sorry Albert, I disagree.

SHE always thought that SHE had some artistic bone in her body - SHE's played musical instruments, attended art camps, and dabbled in design before - but none of these buds were nourished into full bloom.  HE admits to having no artistic inclination other than dressing well on a regular basis since childhood.  As you may have guessed, WE're not the most artistic pair.  WE're not worried though, because WE've got the next best thing: Erin.

Erin, lawyer by day, author of ChicCottageCharm by night, is inspirational.  Last year, she and her hub purchased their first place in the hometown where she and I grew up.  Through the seasons, she blogged about the process of renovating inside and out, posting before and after pics that kept my curiosity growing.  When it came to furnishings and decor, Erin writes, "nothing gets me more excited than a chic find at a great price!"  Seeing her "after" photos, I knew Erin's talent was just what WE needed.

I wrote an email explaining our situation: WE rent a "blandly painted, blandly carpeted," colorless apartment with neutral, natural furnishings.  WE're struggling to brighten it up.  And no, WE aren't allowed to paint the walls.  Could she shoot ideas around and help us?  Erin responded shortly thereafter and gladly offered to help us with our space.  YES!  Sharing the news, WE both breathed a huge sigh of relief and smiled.  Now WE had a redecorating director to lead the way!

Great thinker Albert Einstein is quoted as saying,"The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources."  Sorry Albert, I disagree.  Erin's artistic eye and her inspirational ChicCottageCharm are too good to hide!

  1. Blogger, Isabel DiStefano, protests she is "not the most artistic". Sorry, Isabel, I disagree. Creativity is your middle. And that's what art is all about.
